Dear Friends and Neighbors:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support.  I have been humbled by the experience of this campaign, and all of the support that I have received from the citizens of our district who worked so very hard to make sure that their interests would be best served by my winning this election.  In the end, it was your vote that made the difference, and for that I am truly grateful.  It is a privilege and an honor to serve as your next School Board Representative. 

As I walked our district, I listened carefully to our citizens about their concerns regarding growth and overcrowding, time, transportation, and the maintenance of our existing facilities.  I listened to our teachers concerns regarding the burdens they carry into the classroom.  They are similar as it relates to time and the administrative burdens they carry, resources, discipline in the classroom, and overall support.

We have an award winning school system, with a system of schools that I am very proud to not only represent, but to walk into any one of them, from one end of this county to the next, and say “I would send my child here.” 

Our children are our most precious asset.  They are our next public, our future.  Public education plays a critical role in supporting our democracy and preserving our culture.  We must prepare our children through education for the future of our community, our country.  Failure for them is not an option in today’s society, and the cost of failure for us is far reaching.

As a community, we are in this together.  Let’s take each others hands, reach out to our children, and walk this journey together.

2004 School Bond Referendum ~ Citizens for Chesterfield Students, Chair

Passed by Largest Percentage in the History of the County, 87.3 % Led the county-wide Campaign for the School Bond which involved fundraising, gathering print, and providing information for radio, TV, flyers, sample ballots, billboards, signs, hats, buttons, and hosting over 70 presentations countywide.
